FIRE/LIFE SAFETY TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINING PROGRAM The WBFAA Unilateral Apprenticeship and Training Committee is a statewide apprenticeship training program approved by the State of California Division of Apprenticeship Standards. The program incorporates 6,000 hours of supervised On-The-Job Training (OJT) with 525 Hours of Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) through Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.
The Western Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA) was formed by the California Alarm Association (CAA) and the California Automatic Fire Alarm Association to sponsor an apprenticeship program to comply with the State of California requirement and to promote professionalism in our Fire/Life Safety industry.
The law requires that all technicians working with 100 volt amperes or above must be certified by the State of California or must be enrolled in an approved apprenticeship and training program.
